Good Afternoon, Does anyone know whether amateur press sci-fi fanzines are considered 'published' for copyright purposes since they are not published 'normal' publishing houses? I have a patron who wants to use an article from a 1936 fanzine we hold in a publication. If it is considered to have been published it is now in the public domain but if considered unpublished it is under copyright for several more years since the author died in mid- 1936. Thanks for you assistance, Marcia Marcia Frank Peri Archivist Albin O Kuhn Library & Gallery University of Maryland, Baltimore County 1000 Hilltop Circle Baltimore, MD 21250 Tel: 410-455-6290 A posting from the Archives & Archivists LISTSERV List sponsored by the Society of American Archivists, www.archivists.org.
