In the last week of high school I heard a rumor that you could get your file from the principal's office. I checked it out and was given a pre-printed sheet of tag board with my school photo from each year, 1st grade to 12th, pasted to it. I recognized the handwriting that filled in the blanks at the top of the form as being Mrs. Fulner's, my first grade teacher. Don't know if this was the so-called permanent record or just a portion of it, but it was kinda cool to have that one item. I would've imagined your grades would be part of the file too, but I think they had automated that by the time I graduated so maybe not.

Now if only I had had any luck when I went to the clinic that gave me my childhood vaccinations to get copies of my record...
