As a consultant, don't forget to add enough in your calculations to
cover what you have to pay for social security and Medicare. As a
self-employed person, you will be responsible for the share that the
employer would usually pay.

"The Social Security tax rate for 2006 is 15.3 percent on
self-employment income up to $94,200."

Also, if you aren't insured (medical, contract insurance...), you might
want to include that as well.
