The Austin Public Library/Austin History Center is accepting applications for the position of Archivist at the Librarian III level. The Austin History Center is a division of the Austin Public Library, City of Austin, Texas, with a focus on providing excellent service to customers. This position manages the Archives and Manuscripts Collection Unit and includes work with the public in the Reading Room helping researchers of all ages access materials concerning Austin and Travis County, Texas, as well as work leading teams of staff and volunteers in organizing and processing materials for the archives and manuscripts collection unit. The City of Austin offers a quality of life that many believe is "the best of the best," is known for it fine system of parks and trails, low crime rate, and abundance of music and talent in the arts. Just this evening, I heard City of Austin Mayor, Will Wynn, voice these attributes of the City in ceremonies honoring over 11,000 citizen-volunteers on the plaza at City Hall.
