Please join New Hampshire Archives Group at their Spring meeting. The 
featured topic will be an Introduction to Digital Imaging. The meeting 
will be 9-3 on May 17th at Fox State Forest Henry I. Baldwin Forestry 
Education Center, Fox State Forest, Center Street, Hillsborough, NH.

The morning session is Outreach Through Technology. Gilman Shattuck of 
Hillsborough Historical Society and Susan Fischer of the Historical 
Society of Amherst will talk about their respective digitization 
projects. The Hillsborough Historical Society houses the 
Manahan-Phelps-McCulloch collection, containing more than 40,000 pieces 
of photographic town history that capture small-town family life over a 
period of 14 decades.  The Historical Society of Amherst, NH has made 
available more than 700 historic photos through its website?s Digital 
Image Collection.

The afternoon session is Digital Imaging Basics. Eleta Exline, Digital 
Librarian, University of New Hampshire will give an overview and 
digital imaging basics including equipment, simple color management 
techniques, image quality, file formats, and digitization workflow.  
The workshop will include a scanning demonstration and time for 
questions.

The meeting will also offer tours of the Franklin Pierce Homestead. The 
tours are at 1:30-2:30 pm and 3:30-4:30 pm (limited to 15 individuals 
per tour).

Registration is $15 for members, $20 for non-members.
