What
is the Book Fair? The
Book Fair is an opportunity for archivists and institutions to show off
publications that highlight visual materials from their collections to an
appreciative audience. It’s also a great way to see what others who work
with visual materials are doing, exhibiting, and creating. Previous submissions have included
books, journals, manuals, and calendars relating to photographs, postcards,
artwork, and film collections.
What
is the Silent Auction? This
year’s Book Fair will include a silent auction of select donated publications to
raise money for the annual activities of the Visual Materials Section. You may choose whether or not you would
like your donated publication to be included in the Silent Auction or only to be
displayed in the Book Fair.
When
will the Book Fair & Silent Auction be held? The
Book Fair & Silent Auction will be held at the SAA conference in Washington,
D.C. in the exhibit hall on Friday morning from 9am-noon. Winning bids will be announced during
the Visual Materials section meeting at
