Your Royal Navy person looking to donate his uniforms and memoires might
want to consider the following two institutions:

The Royal Naval Museum in Portsmouth England would be a good place to
start, letters or e-mail will be forwarded to the appropriate curatorial
staff:
Information Service, Royal Naval Museum, HM Naval Base (PP66),
Portsmouth, UK, PO1 3NH

Another option might be the Imperial War Museum in London England, the
person in charge of exhibits & firearms also looks after uniforms etc:
Fergus Read, Acting Keeper, Exhibits & Firearms
telephone: +44 (0)20 7416 5270
email: [log in to unmask]
Imperial War Museum London, Lambeth Road, London, SE1 6HZ, United
Kingdom

As with most museums - they cannot guarantee that anything donated would
be exhibited, they need as much information about the items being
offered as possible and about the person to whom they belonged!

Happy donating,
