College Archivist
Hiram
College, a private, residential, selective liberal arts college located
in Northeast Ohio and within an hour’s drive of Cleveland and Akron,
invites applications for an Archivist to begin August 1, 2006.
Reporting to the library director, the College Archivist is responsible
for the acquisition, processing, preservation, and access to information
in the archival and special collections, as well as providing research
and reference service for those collections. Requires a MLS or MLIS
from an ALA-accredited program or a MA in history with archival
concentration, along with strong oral and written communication
skills. Knowledge of archival practices, including preservation
theory and techniques, is also required. Experience in an academic
library or archival setting is preferred. This is a full-time,
12-month professional staff position with a competitive salary and a
comprehensive benefits package. Qualified candidates should submit
