Hi Arel,

Here at the State Library, we just launched a new service called the Arizona Memory Project, which uses CONTENTdm as our system. Check out our site at: http://azmemory.lib.az.us.

The Arizona Memory Project is looking for partners to upload images, oral histories, documents, maps and a host of other Arizona-related material from Arizona archives, libraries, museums, historical societies and other Arizona cultural institutions. The aim is to create a central online repository to provide access to digital content representative of the cultural treasures that Arizona has to offer. With the service, we provide the CONTENTdm client software (called Acquisition Station), training and consultation throughout the upload process as well as storage space on our server. The only cost that is incurred in participating in this project is the time and resources your organization expends in digitizing, describing and uploading your items.

If this sounds like something that your organization may be interested in, I'll be happy to tell you more. I was forwarded this message from a coworker who subscribes to the Archives listserv, so I won't be able to see responses sent to the listserv. Please feel free to contact me directly at [log in to unmask]

Hope this helps,

Marisa Ramirez

Subject: CONTENTdm

Dear List,

I've been looking at the archives, and I see it's been awhile since
this subject has been discussed. We are looking at alternatives for
content management systems, and right now the discussion is between
CONTENTdm and PTFS.

Please let me know about your experience with either of these
products--or others you may recommend--as a complete management system
from capturing images to Web display.

Thank you for your help.
