In a stunning reply to Bill Taylor’s posting, Yolanda Retter wrote:  “As a Latina, lesbian and female, I would rather not have to avoid cheap jokes like (Cinco de Mayo/Sinko de Mayo) this on a web site dedicated to archives.”

I have to ask two questions.  First , what was offensive about it?  And, second, are there any lesbians who are not female?

And, just to make sure that my posting has historical relevance, I post http://www.tsha.utexas.edu/handbook/online/articles/ZZ/fza4.html for those who are interested in Cinco da Mayo.
