May 5 On this date in 1972, thirty-five archivists from Arkansas, Louisiana, New
Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas met at the University of Texas at Arlington and
organized the Society of Southwest Archivists.

Future;" Houston, Texas.

May 8-10 ARBICA - General Assembly and Seminar of the Arab Regional Branch of
the ICA; Alger, Algeria.

May 8-13 Archives Institute 2006; Edmonton, Alberta. CANCELLED.

May 9-12 Audio Tape Reformatting and Restoration Hands-on Seminar; Aurora,
Ontario.

May 10 NEDCC workshop, "Preservation of Scrapbooks;" Andover, Massachusetts.

May 10- 11 Missouri Heartland Records and Information Management Seminar:
"Gateway to RIM;" St. Charles , Missouri. Todd Gilliom, CA, will conduct a
workshop designed as an introduction to archives for RIM professionals and as a
refresher for practicing archivists. Sponsored by the St. Louis and
Columbia/Jefferson City ARMA Chapters.

May 11 On this date in 1904 was born William Kaye Lamb (d. 1999), Dominion
Archivist (1948-1968) and National Librarian (1953-1967) of Canada.

May 11 NEDCC workshop, "Intermediate Book Repair," Andover, Massachusetts.

May 11-12 SAA workshop, "Encoded Archival Description;" Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania.

May 11-12 CIMA spring meeting; Ogden, Utah.
