The ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives seeks a Project Director/Archivist, and two Project Archivists to complete a project entitled: The ONE Archives Manuscript Cataloging Project. All three positions will last for two years. 

Project Director/Archivist
Project Director/Archivist must have 2 to 3 years of experience as an archivist, supervisory experience, an ability to successfully direct a complex archival project as well as an understanding of basic archival tasks and experience in creating encoded archival description finding aids. Candidate must have knowledge of arrangement and description techniques, experience with LCSH, DACS, MARC and EAD; excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills; an ALA-accredited MLS or related advanced degree; familiarity with automated applications for archives administration; and a commitment to a collaborative working process. Candidate should have a knowledge and interest in Lesbian and Gay history. Position reports to Project Consultant and ONE Archives Executive Committee. Salary $42,000.

Project Archivist: Two positions
Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Project Archivist will organize, catalog and encode manuscript materials at the ONE Archives. Candidate must have knowledge of basic archival tasks as well as experience in creating EAD finding aids. Archivist must have knowledge of appropriate technologies such as EAD and other web-based applications; experience with arrangement and description techniques, experience with LCSH, DACS, MARC and EAD; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ALA-accredited MLS or related advanced degree. Candidate should have formal course work in archives and one to two years experience in an archive; strong verbal and written communication skills; familiarity with automated applications for archives administration; and a commitment to a collaborative working process. Candidates should have a knowledge and interest in Lesbian and Gay history.   Salary $33,000.

The ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives houses the world's largest research library on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Trans-gendered heritage and concerns. ONE is located near the campus of the University of Southern California in the West Adams district of Los Angeles.  The ONE Archives cannot pay for expenses related to travel for interviews or moving expenses.
