All,

About 50 years ago, the West Virginia and Regional History Collection
began collecting state contemporary printed ephemera to include event
announcements, event programs, restaurant menus, organizational
mailings, brochures (about state parks, artisans, historic sites, etc.),
local public radio broadcast schedules, local real estate listings, etc.

The quanity of printed ephemera being produced today is much greater
than it was fifty years ago. Also, the type of ephmera has changed as
well.

Are there any other archives (state, local, or university) which are
currently collecting their state's contemporary printed ephemera?

If so, could you please share your collection development guidelines
with me? Is the general consensus that all state-related printed
ephemera should be archived? If not, are there categories of
contemporary printed ephemera which are considered to be unimportant for
historical or research purposes?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Anna
