Ah - this is the exact dilemma I find myself in (see below listserve) - Hello all! I want a reclassification and was hoping that you could let me know (a) what classification you are in currently and (b) what your educational background is. I have my MA, am working on my MLS and am currently labeled "Library Assistant II". (I REALLY hate that title, geeze, who am I assisting???? I run my own department, for Pete's sake!!!) Sigh. Thanks much! Evelyn Evelyn Taylor, University Archivist Cal. State Univ., Channel Islands -----Original Message----- From: Archives & Archivists [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of J. Then in order to be an archivist reporting to a college/university library director they have to get an LIS masters--and with wretched pay to boot. Ridiculous!
