Job Opening: A&A List Coordinator

The Society of American Archivists (SAA) invites applications for the position of Archives & Archivists (A&A) List Coordinator. The A&A List was established at Miami University in 1989 and provides a venue for discussion of all aspects of the theory and practice of the archival profession to more than 3,500 archivists and allied professionals. This is a one-year contract position starting July 1, 2006, subject to renewal by mutual agreement. Job duties: Reporting to SAA’s Director of Member & Technical Services, the list coordinator will be responsible primarily for assisting subscribers with common list commands (e.g., subscribe, unsubscribe, etc.) and monitoring the list for abusive behavior. A&A is an unmoderated forum, meaning that the coordinator will not be responsible for screening and approving list messages. Terms of Participation covering such issues as the scope of the list, topics to be avoided, copyright, and netiquette are self-enforced and rarely require intervention. The estimated amount of work is 2-3 hours per week. Requirements: SAA seeks a technically-savvy individual with good written communication abilities. Previous list administration experience and/or knowledge of list software a plus. Compensation: Annual stipend of $1,500 plus training via webinar(s). Application deadline: June 23, 2006. Application procedure: Please send a copy of your resume, three references, and a statement of interest to:
