Do archivists have courses in Ethics? That's interesting... Why would it be your responsibility to *alert everyone* and not their responsiblity to *check out* his story, like you did...sort of a seller beware type thing.... Your prices should be your prices...and other folks should charge what they charge whether bulk or not....no price fixing allowed....:) Hey, it takes lawyers awhile to read all that fine print too....:) ----Original Message Follows---- From: Chuck Hill <[log in to unmask]> Reply-To: Chuck Hill <[log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [ARCHIVES] suggestion re Chuck's ethical issue Date: Thu, 22 Jun 2006 09:54:11 -0400 Maarja, Unfortunately, our legal department took a year to review a contract for photocopiers in the Library! It was not my intention to "black ball" this person nor defame them. I thought it a professional responsibility to advise my colleagues of a situation where a patron was obviously using false information to gain access to material in university archives at costs below what they might normally charge, thinking that their colleagues were doing the same for this patron.
