HIRING SALARY RANGE: $31,474.08 – $40,992.72

The Georgia Archives is seeking a qualified records professional to join the Records and Information Management Services Team. The position provides consultative services to state and local governments in the management of public records and the creation of archives-ready data. The successful candidate with have a proven track record of analyzing and assessing complex paper and electronic information systems; experience in developing and reviewing retention schedules for public records; presenting training programs, and developing standards.

 The position requires:
• Comprehensive knowledge of records management and archival techniques and electronic records management practices, systems analysis, data management, and practices for imaging, e-mail and emerging electronic technologies and component hardware and software. 
• Working knowledge of state and local government organization, operations and functions. 
• Demonstrated ability to develop retention and disposition schedules. 
• Excellent customer service skills required to provide consultative services. 
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. 
• Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of professional, support, and clerical staff, and with public officials at the local, state, and federal levels. 
• Demonstrated ability to advise agency management on organizational and operational issues. 
• Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective training. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of an undergraduate degree in records and information management, public administration, information technologies or related field and two years experience in evaluating or managing public records programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Five years experience in administrating a public records program with successful implementations of Information technologies or a Masters Degree in Information technology, Library Sciences or Archival Administration.
