Collections/Exhibitions Assistant 

The Lake County Discovery Museum's Collections/Exhibitions Assistant
is a one-year, paid intern position designed to give candidates an
opportunity to work within the Collections and Exhibitions division of a
nationally accredited museum.  The position will focus on work in the
archival and objects collections including assisting staff with
research, exhibit development, preparation, and label writing, storage
refinement, writing one postcard-related research article for a Museum
publication, and other ongoing collections tasks.  The position includes
occasional evening and weekend work with large-scale public events.  
Discounted temporary employee housing is available onsite. 

The Lake County Discovery Museum is a department of the Lake County
Forest Preserves, located in the suburbs north of Chicago.  Museum
exhibits focus primarily on its collections, which include the Lake
County Archives and objects collection and the Curt Teich Postcard
Archives. The Museum's special exhibitions explore a variety of
subjects, including popular culture.

Road, Wauconda, IL  60084. Additional information about the museum can

must be received by August 1, 2006 with a start date for the position
the beginning of September 2006.
