Yes, you can sign up for pre-conference programs without registering for
the entire conference.
Yes, you can buy a one-day pass for Thursday and/or Friday, that
entitles you to great 
        sessions and access to the Exhibit Hall Happy Hour (on Thursday)
and the Brunch and All-Attendee 
        Reception at the National Museum of American History (on
Friday)!
Yes, Cokie Roberts has just been added as a plenary speaker on Friday at
9:00 am--and she'll be signing
        her newest book, Founding Mothers, in the Exhibit Hall after her
talk!
Yes, these long-awaited SAA books will be available for purchase onsite:

Yes, "seasoned" professionals will be ready to you assist with resume

No, flooding has not affected the Wednesday reception and tour of the
National Archives Public Vaults Exhibit!
Yes, you may get wet at the "Build a Boat and Hope It Floats Regatta" on
Saturday evening--but not if you and your team do it "right"!  Better
plan to wear your swimsuit or t-shirt and shorts to this fun event.
