I've started using Google Scholar and notice it will put references into five different formats with a click of the mouse. Endnote Bibtex RefMan RefWorks WenXianWang You will notice the difference between this list and the one below. ProCite is missing and Bibtex and WenXianWang are added. Any thoughts? Particularly on Bibtex, or Latex, the program it works with. Here's what the Wiki has to say about Bibtex, an open-source program. BibΤΕΧ, written as BibTeX in plain text, is a tool for formatting lists of references used by the LaTeX document preparation system. BibTeX was created by Oren Patashnik and Leslie Lamport in 1985. BibTeX makes it easy to cite sources in a consistent manner, by separating bibliographic information from the presentation of this information. This same principle of separation of content and presentation/style is used by LaTeX itself, by XHTML and CSS, etc. * * * * * J B K * * * * * San Francisco On Jul 12, 2006, at 3:58 AM, Jim Klein wrote: As y'all know, I'm rejoining the academic community after 25 years as a bond trader. One of the web-based research tools, JSTOR, identified the following programs as compatible with their web site citations allowing easy importation to a bibliography for journal articles. (I never knew how hard it is to put together a bibliography!) A recent article requires hundreds of citations and I have no intention of typing them all into an Excel spreadsheet. Is anyone familiar with the programs or their use? I want to use them to build a comprehensive bibliography for both economics and the Indies project. Thanks. I'm off again on detached service - Admiralty Orders - and going NOMAIL, so I'll read your responses in Trick's Archives. Contact me directly if you'd like. Thanks again, Jim. "Give way there.
