Actually, one cubic foot of unprocessed materials expands considerably after processing, depending on the level of processing that you do with it. For example, if you have a carton stuffed with loose papers or photographs and you decide to individually folder them all before putting them in (unstuffed) document boxes, you can end up with three times or more your original volume. (The converse is true also; if you decide to toss half the materials in a given collection, you'll end up using a lot less space and perhaps your original cubic foot of unprocessed materials will actually translate to a cubic foot of processed materials....) I think it's an impossible question to answer. 1 foot of permanent, unprocessed materials becomes 1 foot of permanent, processed materials. 1 foot of receipts for lunch becomes 1 foot of recycled paper tossed in a bin. I don't think one can estimate in such a case, because the end amount depends on the value of the materials processed. Hello All, I am writing to see if anyone can provide me with an estimate and/or a standard number used for translating unprocessed collection size into processed collection size? For context --the collection largely consisted of photographic and paper materials. _____________________________________________________________________ The information contained in this electronic e-mail transmission and any attachments are intended only for the use of the individual or entity to whom or to which it is addressed, and may contain information that is privileged, confidential and exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
