Ford Motor Company – winner of the Iron Mountain/ARMA Award for Excellence in Strategic Information Management – is seeking a self-directed, motivated records professional to lead its global records and information management program.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the records and information management team with ultimate responsibility for the vision, strategy, objectives, and metrics of the team
  • Oversee the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of global standards and processes for information management for the Company
  • Collaborate with staff, business partners, stakeholders and co-workers to:
    • Work with Information Technology to create strategies for the management of electronic records and to address privacy and security requirements
    • Develop and maintain records classifications that are user friendly and can be understood and applied by the global audience for the records and information management program
    • Research business, legal and regulatory requirements and update records retention schedules to reflect requirements of various countries and regions
    • Provide guidance and advice to departments seeking assistance in implementing the corporate records and information management program in their areas
    • Develop best practices for managing company records and information in compliance with corporate standards
    • Establish internal control processes for management of the headquarters' records retention center and monitor for continual improvement
    • Develop and continually improve training tools for ensuring compliance with the corporate records and information management program
    • Communicate program requirements through email and the company's Web portal to all who are expected to comply
    • Monitor individual, departmental and regional program compliance and reporting to program stakeholders
    • Facilitate proper life cycle management of the company's archival records with long-term business and historical value

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree required

·        Masters degree strongly preferred

·        Minimum seven years' experience in records and information management and/or related fields in increasing levels of responsibilities, preferably in a corporate setting

·        Certified Records Manager preferred

·        Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and develop staff

·        Track record in working collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders

·        Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

·        Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing business priorities

·        Capacity for complex, analytical and detailed work

·        Proven experience designing and implementing classification and retention structures based on function and activity

·        Creative problem solving abilities aligned with RIM best practices

·        Strong familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements for records and information systems and processes

·        Working knowledge of technical infrastructure and applications from the information management perspective
