Dear SAA attendees who might need elevators,

As someone who uses the Dupont Circle Metro regularly, I wanted to let people who are coming to SAA and planning to use Metro that the elevators at the Dupont Circle Metro Station are out of service for repair. This is the station that is closest to the Hilton. The (long) escalators will hopefully be in service! If you need shuttle service, Metro advises that you call 202-962-1825 to arrange to be picked up at next station on the Red Line at Woodley Park.

For a longer explanation, see: http://www.wmata.com/about/met_news/story.cfm?ID=872

Indeed, if using escalators is difficult or impossible for you, it would be worth looking at the general information on Metro's Elevator Status since elevator outages are very common at different stations as they do long-term maintenance. The list is updated regularly: http://www.wmata.com/riding/eles_status.cfm?nocache

Safe travels,

Lucy
