If you don't want to walk up the long hill on a hot summer morning,
you can take Metrobus.

Bus 42 runs from the Dupont Circle metro straight up Connecticut
Avenue to the hotel. The ride is roughly 2 minutes. The bus schedule
is available at: http://wmata.com/timetables/view.cfm?line=105. It
runs every 10-15 minutes.

What to do:

When you enter the metro, dispense a bus transfer after you've gone
through the metro fare gates and before you get on the escalator for
the rail platform -- look for a little square brown machine. (The bus
will cost $.35 with the transfer and $1.25 without a transfer - exact
change required).

Exit the Dupont Circle station by following the signs for Q Street /
Dupont Circle North.
When you arrive at the street, make a sharp right and cross
Connecticut Avenue (the big one with the median). Stand at the metro
bus sign.
Take Bus # 42 Mount Pleasant.

Get off the bus at Florida Avenue. The bus driver should be more than
happy to help you find your stop. If you miss Florida Avenue and see
the hotel to your right, get off at the next stop and walk down the
hill to the hotel.

service

Everyone,

In addition to Lucy's timely warning about the elevators at Dupont
Circle, it would be good for people to know that once they get to the
top of the escalator at the Q Street Metro entrance (closest to the
hotel), the walk to the hotel up Connecticut Avenue on the east side
is about 4 blocks slightly uphill until you get to the last block
which is steeper! Please keep Lucy's statement and the distance to
Metro in mind if you are trying to get to and from other meetings. If
you're not an escalator walker (as many people around here are), the
ride up the escalator at Dupont can take nearly 5 minutes because it
is so long.
