The Olmsted Brothers archives is located in MA. I am away from my office now, but I can get this info to you in August. In 1930, the Olmsted Brothers did some work for the Emma Willard School campus. I just received a copy of their finding aid (all that concerns their work with us in 1930). We are now engaged in a new campus project and our current architects went over to MA to look at the original plans. I bet you can just google "Olmsted archives" and get the site quickly. The archives building is under construction at the moment so be patient with responses to calls and emails.

Subject: Charles A Platt and Olmstead brothers

Dear List:

Would anyone know who holds copyright to the architectural and landscape designs of:

1. Charles A. Platt (1861-1933)

2. Olmstead Brothers

We have a collection of drawings for the Richard Garlick residence here in the Youngstown, Ohio area and have had a patron request copies. Aside from issues raised by the fragile nature of some of the drawings themselves and how to duplicate them safely, we are concerned with who holds copyright to them, and if in fact we could reproduce them for a patron. We know we do not hold copyright, but we have no record on file as to who does.

If any of you know who does hold copyright, or if anyone knows of other repositories which have collections of materials for either Platt or the Olmsteads, I would appreciate the information.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Pamela L. Speis
