Archival Access Issues Symposium

The Dwight D. Eisenhower Library and Kansas City Area Archivists (KCAA) invite submissions of proposals for sessions or papers for a one-day Archival Access Issues Symposium.  This symposium, co-sponsored by the Eisenhower Library and the KCAA will be held at Abilene, Kansas, May 24, 2007.

The Program Committee is interested in proposals on all aspects of access to archival collections. Issues such as privacy concerns, student records, medical records are welcome.  We are also interested in access versus preservation concerns, providing access to electronic records, and the confusing world of copyright issues.  The committee will consider session and paper proposals on all related topics. Proposals from professionals in allied fields (records management, public history, museums, etc.) and from graduate students are welcome.

To submit a session proposal, please send a brief (one page maximum) statement for the overall theme of the session, and a summary outlining the topic of discussion of each panel participant.  Please provide the names and contact information for each presenter.

Submissions from individual presenters are also welcome.  As above, please submit a summary of your topic along with your name and contact information..
