There is no form for a transfer of copyright. All you
need to say in the Deed of Gift is that all of the copyright owner's
rights in the material are transferred to the repository. The
Copyright Act only says that the transfer must be in writing. I
would probably write something like "X irrevocably transfers and
assigns to Y in perpetuity all rights (whether now known or later
developed), title, and interests, including any copyright rights, in [the
material]." I would then run it past our lawyers, because I am
not a lawyer and cannot give legal advice.
Any of the examples of deeds of gift, in the ARMA/SAA manual, in the old
SAA Law manual, etc. should include language like this.
