Democracy Now is now accepting application for its fall internship
program to work within the media archives. Internships require 15
hours per week at our location in lower Manhattan.

The Democracy Now! Archive contains over 25,000 pieces of media, a
research library, and collections of independent news media. Our
media collection spans from the mid-eighties until the present and
serves as a production library for ongoing Democracy Now! productions
and a research source through active cataloguing, collection
management, access and preservation.

Democracy Now! is a national, daily, independent, award-winning news
program airing on over 450 stations in North America. Pioneering the
largest public media collaboration in the U.S., Democracy Now! is
broadcast on Pacifica, NPR, community, and college radio stations; on
public access, PBS, satellite television (DISH network: Free Speech
TV ch. 9415 and Link TV ch. 9410; DIRECTV: Link TV ch. 375); as a
"podcast," and on the internet.

Internship:
Interns will be responsible for processing collections, re-housing
archival materials, cataloguing, research, and analog to digital
audio conversion. This is an excellent opportunity for those
interested in pursuing a career in media archives while working in a
busy newsroom environment.
