Obtaining copyright

Good morning, list members! I hope someone can help me.
My institution may purchase a small photographic slide collection from a professional photo studio in the very near future. The studio currently holds copyright on those images. Can I use a Deed of Gift form (with slight alteration in wording to "Deed of Purchase") to obtain copyright, or would I need a different form altogether? Does anyone have good examples of such an agreement? Or any other advice in this type of transaction?

Thank you so much in advance.
