CALL FOR INSTITUTE AND WORKSHOP PROPOSALS

Association of Canadian Archivists

2007 Annual Conference, Kingston, Ontario

21-23 June 2007

The ACA is seeking proposals for an Institute and Workshops to be held in
conjunction with the 2007 Annual Conference in Kingston, Ontario. There is
no requirement to tie proposals to the conference theme, but proposals which
accomplish that tie-in are welcome. All submissions will be considered on
their own merits.

ACA Institutes are unique, advanced-level educational opportunities that
delve into the complex issues associated with archival tasks through
lectures, reading-based group discussions, group-based problem-solving and
case study analysis. Typically, Institute participants have been in the
profession for a minimum of five years which enables discussion and group
work to be based in work experience more easily. Institutes run over the
course of two to three days with two or more instructors. In the past,
institutes have been scheduled either immediately after or before the ACA
annual conference.

ACA Workshops provide instruction on focused topics which will enhance any
archivist's skill set. The Workshops are sometimes delivered with
provincial and territorial associations. Normally workshops are held as
half day or full day sessions. As with institutes, workshops are scheduled
closely to the timing of the Annual Conference.
