Now that the program for the SOFIA 2006 conference is available and
piquing your interest, let me also remind you of the pre-conference tour
being offered as well.

Bulgaria is a beautiful place and taking the extra week to explore it
with a guided tour will only increase your appreciation of the country
and its people. The tour begins 1 November and ends 7 November, the day
before the conference. During the tour, you will be taken by
comfortable bus throughout the central part of Bulgaria, stopping at
Plovdiv to see the Roman amphitheatre, Kazanluk to see the Rose Festival
museum, Stara Zagora to see a Neolithic dwelling, Veliko Turnovo to see
the castle of the Second Bulgarian Empire, and then back to Sofia, over
Shipka Pass and through the villages of Arbanassi and Ertura. Along the
way you will stay in 3 or 4 star hotels, partake of delicious food and
drinks (wine, beer, rakia), enjoy the wisdom of the tour guide (through
the charming translator - the tour is in English), and meet new friends.
All for US$1190 double and $1250 single occupancy; it's an opportunity
you don't want to miss!

I hope you will join me on this tour. More information and
registration can be found at
http://slim.emporia.edu/globenet/Sofia2006/tour.htm
The deadline for registration payment is 15 October. Please feel free
to contact me with any questions.
