Compiler: Paul Gardner. Email: [log in to unmask] Fall migration is in full swing. Warbler watchers and shorebird seekers have both reported daily lists in double figures this week. Little Blue Heron: Remaining at the Hoover Nature Preserve boardwalk, Delaware County, the juvenile heron was reported most recently on the 21st by Ben Warner. Yellow-crowned Night-Heron: While canoeing in the Little Miami River opposite the mouth of O'Bannon Creek, Don Bogosian saw one on the 18th. Marbled Godwit: Two remained at Hoagland-Blackstub Road at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull County, at least through the 22nd. Pennsylvania birders Walt and Dana Shaffer were graced by one at Conneaut, Ashtabula County, on the 20th. Red Knot: Ben Warner found one from Hoagland-Blackstub Road at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull County, on the 18th. It was last reported on the 22nd by Craig Holt. Ben spotted another one at Conneaut on the 19th. Western Sandpiper: Found at Conneaut on the 20th by Pennsylvania birders Walt and Dana Shaffer, and by Craig Holt on the 21st. Rob Lowry found a juvenile from the Hoover Nature Preserve boardwalk on 20th that was refound by Ben Warner the next day. White-rumped Sandpiper: Reported from Conneaut, Ashtabula County, on the 18th by Ben Warner. Ethan Kisler and Brad Wilkinson found one at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull County, on the 22nd. Baird's Sandpiper: Ben Warner found one at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull County, on the 18th. Ethan Kisler reported one from there on the 22nd. At Conneaut they were reported from the 19th (Ben Warner) through the 21st (Walt and Dana Shaffer). Buff-breasted Sandpiper: First reported by John Petruzzi, one was seen by multiple observers at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull County, apparently all on the 22nd. Wilson's Phalarope: Ethan Kisler and Brad Wilkinson found one at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area, Trumbull County, on the 22nd. Red-necked Phalarope: At Conneaut, seen by Ben Warner on the 18th and by John Pogacnik on the 21st. Bret McCarty reported one from the monthly auto tour at Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge, Ottawa County, on the 18th. At Hoover Nature Preserve, Joe Hammond spotted one on the 19th that was still being reported on the 21st. Little Gull: Ethan Kisler was able to find one at Conneaut on the 18th. Paul Lozano and others spotted one at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area on 19th that remained at least to the next day (Judy Hochadel). Tom Barlett reported that four were found on the Kelly's Island census on the 20th. LEAST TERN: Jay and Jack Stenger found an immature bird at Acton Lake in Hueston Woods State Park, Premble County, on the 19th. No sightings were reported after the 19th. Black Tern: Bret McCarty found one at Mallard Club Marsh, Ottawa County, on the 18th.
