My dad and I found a late but very lively Pine Siskin singing and buzzing away in the forest east of the lake at the OSU Wetland off Dodridge Rd. yesterday (Thursday, the 17th) around 11 am. Allowed great looks. Also had 2 Yellow-throated Warblers in the sycamores along the river at the same location. At Greenlawn Cemetery, we found 3 or 4 Winter Wrens, 2 Hermit Thrushes, a Red-breasted Nuthatch, 3 Fox Sparrows, and the two Great-horned owlets were perched up near the top of the nest-cavity tree, seeming to show off their newly-grown adult flight feathers. Of course, plenty of more common birds at both locations. -Nate Nye ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
