On Thursday evening(June 5)while listening to the black rail close to the road I heard another far back into the marsh. I also heard a call which sounded like a soft "purr-purr-purr-purr" fairly close to the road. The first bird moved around considerably and called and went far back into the marsh(south). At one time, before going there, it called 37 consecutive times. John(from Cincinnati)and I stayed until dark and the bird did not fly across the road or fly anywhere else. There were only two other people who stopped and they didn't stay very long. The first bird, which had gone so far to the south of the road, did come back to its "usual"location near the road. John, would you please e-mail me privately at: [log in to unmask] Thanks. Sincerely, Jim Fry ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
