A blustery morning at Conneaut produced no unusual jaegers or gulls, unfortunately, though there were several thousand gulls in the area.  The shorebird highlight was definitely a skittish UPLAND SANDPIPER, which flew into the mudflat area calling and landed out of view along the entrance road.  It flushed again when Jay Lehman and I were still a couple hundred feet away, and headed over to the beach to the west.  Here we were able to view the bird from a distance as it foraged in the grass along the edge of the beach.  Also at Conneaut:  a gorgeous ad. A. Golden-Plover, ad. White-rumped and two Baird's (ad, juv), and the local yokel Red Knot.

Good birding -
