At Ladu Reservoir in Geauga County, at 2:00pm. Feeding along the edge of the far shore were three sand hill cranes. Resting on the far shore about 30 Tundra Swans. Disturbed by a kayak right before I left at 3:15 the swans flew off but the cranes simply relocated to the opposite shore. I saw two buffleheads swimming along with the flock of mallards, about 30. If there were other duck species there I wasn't able to separate them As always, lots of canada geese and about 20 ring billed gulls. 10 Killdeer, 1 Great Blue Heron. A few e. bluebirds along the road. On the way I passed a n. mockingbird on Franklin Rd. near Chagrin Falls, across from Evergreen Cemetery. A fairly reliable location for a mockingbird. At home, Chagrin River Road in Geauga Co. I saw an adult Bald Eagle first thing this morning, soaring over the fields. Also a brown creeper poking around in the bark of a scotch pine.
