Yesterday at 72nd st. was sunny about 11:00 am.  Not a very large gathering of gulls, most of what was there was west of the fishing pier towards E55th St.  The usual ducks, lesser scaup, canvasback, redheads, goldeneye, bufflehead, etc plus a few rb mergansers.
Afterwards I went to Bath Rd  in the Cuyahoga Valley NP and counted approximately 60 great blue herons, about 10 of which were on the ground over towards the river.  Left there and went to Station Rd. to walk the tracks to the other rookery but stopped just north of the 82 bridge as an "area closed" sign was posted citing nesting bald eagles.  Last I heard that nest was abandoned but apparently they still don't want anyone near it.  Heading home I spotted a coyote digging in the snow for lunch off Riverview, near the northern terminus.

Also saw one adult bald eagle scrapping with crows near Everett Rd at Wheatley, above the stream.

Some photos here, including one of the coyote (on previous page).
