Hi all, Just got off the phone with Larry Richardson, who discovered the Black-bellied Whistling-Duck at Pipe Creek Wildlife Area this morning. He is looking at the bird right now. For directions to Pipe Creek, visit: http://www.ohiobirds.org/birdingsites/showsite.php?Site_ID=104 Pipe Creek is right on Lake Erie, a stone's throw from Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky. Larry said that the bird is at present loafing on a small island just off the north dike of the wildlife area and is easily visible. The best viewing, at least for now, is from the vicinity of Pond B. Other birders are rushing to the site and there'll probably be others there if you go. Any questions, Larry kindly provided his cell #: 440-915-1125. Great find, Larry, and thanks for getting the word out ASAP!
