Lots and lots of black-capped chickadees, white-breasted nuthatches and tufted titmice (titmouses?) this weekend, along with a smattering of white-throated sparrows. At least one brown creeper is still creeping around and a Cooper's hawk has finally discovered our feeder but has yet to leave evidence of a kill. American goldfinches, northern cardinals, and blue jays rounded out the feeder birds. Lots of birds have been peeping in the evening as the sun set but it has been too dark to recognize them (and I'm just no good with contact calls.) Also, I'm a bit frustrated that a few months after moving away from Bluffton something interesting finally shows up there! Congrats to those that have had the time to venture there and see it.
