This morning I was birding an area known as the Ridges that runs along the Hocking River on the outskirts of Athens, Ohio. At 8:56 A.M., a Swallow-tailed Kite flew right over my head from behind me (south) and heading in a northerly direction. It circled twice on a thermal with two Turkey Vultures where I had excellent looks from all angles, then proceeded over the ridge in a northerly direction. Later, I birded the open areas at the top of the Ridges looking over the Hocking, but did not refind it. -- CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This e-mail message is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and contains confidential and/or privileged material.
