Had to get out on this beautiful day! In the fall I tend to see a lot of leaf birds and shadow birds,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but there were some real birds too today along the boardwalk. The highlights were watching many kinglets flit around, both ruby-crowned and golden-crowned. Heard and saw lots of rusty blackbirds also. Yellow rumped, Bay-breasted, Blackpoll and Common yellowthroats too. A few sanderlings along the beach................ While the weather this weekend probably won't bring in a wave of birds, it will be very pleasant. Two unique opportunities for birding this weekend at Magee Marsh: Saturday is our Hike the Dikes walk and will leave from the Bird Center at 9 am. Then on Sunday, October 9th, we will be doing our monthly bird count beginning at 8 am. Come join us if you can. Happy Birding! Mary L.
