Sorry for the somewhat late post. We decided to take advantage of the sun and ignore the wind to explore Prairie Oaks. Not a lot of birds, probably due to the wind. Birds seen: Turkey Vulture - 3-4 individuals seen soaring at various locations Belted Kingfisher - 1 by Big Darby Creek Greenway bridge RB Woodpecker - 1 heard by Big Darby Creek Greenway bridge Am. Robin - 1 very noisy near Greenway path, 2-3 spotted in various trees Waterfowl @Darby Bend Lake: 40+ Canada Geese, 10 Am. Coots Coneflower Trail: 2 broad-winged hawks dive-bombing each other, Blue Jay - 1- (heard), Goldfinch - 3. And one mystery bird observed in a tree next to creek off Coneflower trail: dull brown back with streaked lighter breast, no other priminent markings, no eye-ring. We consulted our Kaufmann guide thinking it might be a fall warbler but could not settle on anything. Or perhaps an immature Kinglet as it exhibited some flycatcher-like behaviors (but then we should have seen an eye ring?). Suggestions welcome! Good birding to all!
