Robert Hershberger and I visited Headlands, Walter Best Preserve near Chardon, and Berlin Reservoir (Rt 224 crossing) on Nov 1 Great looks at the Red Phalarope (maybe two...) , 3 Sanderlings and lots of Common Terns just beyond the lighthouse at Headlands. The Red-necked Grebe was still at Walter Best. The afternoon birding at Berlin Reservoir was also great: 2 Greater Yellowlegs, 40+ Dunlin, 3 White-rumped, 1 Baird's, 11 Least, 1 Semipalmated Plover, 5 Killdeer, 22 Ruddy Ducks, 5 Gadwall, plus lots of gulls, including good numbers of Bonaparte's.
