Birders, The Great Horned Owl was still sitting on her nest this afternoon. This time we could see ears, eyes and her tail. She seemed to be much higher in the nest than when we first saw her. She may have baby owls under her or there may still be eggs. This is the 24th confirmed day on the nest, but, of course, it might be longer. They were heard dueting for several days before we saw her sitting the nest. Have visited the nest site about eight times, and she has been there every time. Plus, I still hear her occasionally, or rather them. The weather this year has certainly cooperated. A great year to raise little owls. Will continue to keep the world posted without bothering the momma too much. joe in the waiting room Somerset, Ohio Perry County ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
