the Great Horned owl babies in Perry County have gone through a dramatic color change in just the last few days. Saturday morning, they still appeared mostly white and down covered. This afternoon, they were a medium gray and quite beautiful. When they sit on the edge of the nest, they are about the size of a Barred owl, and still have their raccoon masks. In the bright afternoon sun, they were truly beautiful. I'm really enjoying this, just in case that's not evident. joe faulkner somerset, ohio perry county ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
