It was an interesting morning. There really was not much of a movement of birds. The gulls seemed to slowly build off-shore. Some may have been hanging out locally. If anything the gulls were enough to attract a parasitic jaeger. The jaeger came out of the east and harassed the gulls a bit before heading back to the east. What was interesting, while I was watching the jaeger in the scope several monarch butterflies passed by. About the time I quit there was a nice movement of turkey vultures heading west along the shoreline. In all I think I counted close to 200. There were also a few bald eagles, but they may have been locals.
