I spent Friday morning at a couple spots at Mohican, and while the number of warblers I saw wasn't as high as I'd hoped, I was pleased to find a Winter Wren along the Lyon Falls trail. While I know Winter Wrens are found at Mohican many summers and thus it's not that noteworthy, it was great to be able to spend several minutes listening to it sing. It's a shame we don't get to listen to its song throughout more of the state in summer. I did not see a second one with it for sure, but another bird that appeared to be the same size landed in the fallen tree near the singing male, so while I didn't see it well, I think there's a good chance it was female. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
