Hi Folks, 11:45 a.m. Sunday the 15th I just passed (actually stopped and studied) 13 vultures about 100-200 feet north of Orchard Park Road east of Lexington in the first grassy field west of where Orchard Park crosses over I-71. They were feeding on the remnants of an apparently several day old deer carcass (Serengeti-style) squabbling and chasing each other around. Included in the flock were 6 mature Turkey Vultures, 1 immature TV, 4 adult Black Vultures and 1 young Black Vulture . The juveniles still had a lot of lighter colored, almost downy feathers on their napes. There is a pulloff on the north side for easy access.
