I know somebody at an airport. There they just were capturing owls choosing the runways instead of the outskirts. One owl they captured, banded and released counties away was back the next day. I do not think they should be killed though. _Kimba J Summit ________________________________ From: Joy Barron <[log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask] Sent: Sunday, January 19, 2014 8:29 AM Subject: [Ohio-birds] Snowy Owls at Gerald R. Ford International Airport Greetings birders, I am a member of your Ohio bird list who lives in Michigan. We are having the same problem with Snowy Owls at the Gerald R. Ford Airport that JFK Airport had. They are slaughtering the owls instead of capturing and releasing. Please sign this petition to help us help the owls. _Petition | Stop Killing Snowy Owls | Change.org_ (http://www.change.org/petitions/gerald-r-ford-internati onal-airport-stop-killing-snowy-owls#share) or try this link if the above doesn't work: http://www.change.org/petitions/gerald-r-ford-international-airport-stop-killing-snowy-owls My sincere thanks, Joy Barron Michigan ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
