Scott Huge and I were looking for the American Golden Plover near the boathouse this evening when he said “Hey! Is that a Merlin on that snag?” By golly it was! We trained our scopes on it for about 5 minutes before it flew away, hastling a crow before it left the area heading west toward Rt. 44. Here is a link to a few digiscoped images (max zoom with an iPhone which is why they are so grainy). https://www.flickr.com/photos/85567104@N05/albums/72157653319568110/with/212 33508855/. I had to leave but Scott eventually found the AG Plover about ¼ mile north of the boathouse.
